Justin Bieber has made his appreciation for the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, very apparent on his Twitter profile. He has left a number of RIP messages for Jackson over the course of the last few days, and has made public mentions of Jackson quite a few times in recent interviews.
“I am not sure if there will be there will never be another Michael Jackson but it is possible,” said Jessica Jarrel when she was asked if anyone could take MJ’s place as the greatest pop musician of all time. “Justin Bieber is definitely on track to fill that void.”
The comment has received a lot of press over the course of the last few days. Many have said that they believe that she was out of line to say that Bieber could fill that void so early in his career, without a real track record. Many child singers have seen success, but Bieber has seen it at an unprecedented level for a singer alone.
Miley Cyrus was able to slide into a career as a singer based off of her success as an actress. Bieber was able to become the star that he is based on his singing talent alone.
It will be interesting to see how his career progresses from here. He is undoubtedly a good entertainer, but does he have the “it” factor that MJ had? He certainly has to learn how to dance a little better before he can be on the same level as Jackson.

Ok, here’s the deal. Yes, Bieber can sing good. Lots of artists can (and many can’t.) But try to realize that there have been countless Teen boys that became popular with tween and teen girls in the music industry. True Bieber’s been more popular than most, HOWEVER he isn’t a great writer. His music isn’t composed by himself. The lyrics are typical ones about girls and love. If he wants to be seen as a better artist by all his haters, he needs to start producing his own music and really needs to develop better lyricism. Does he have what it takes? I have no idea, but to say that he is the closest to replacing MJ is off by a lot. There are probably a few dozen other pop artists closer than Bieber. Right now he is just another superstar teen era (Jonas Bros, Aaron Carter, Zac Efron…they never stop) You have to wait to see what happens after his voice gets deeper, see if he’s still popular and if he can delelope into a good writer.

I agree Lyssa, MJ is a complicated character and it takes natural self-sophistication to be like him. Undoubtedly a genius a right-brain. Justin will be well-known for the rest of his life. I’m a 15 year old kid right now and I’m undiscovered. I’ve set my sights high this past week and I’m determined to be something like him.
At first I heard Justin and I thought it was a girl singing..I was like WTF?! After going past his undeveloped voice, I saw him in numerous interviews and I’m pretty certain we’re on the same “astral plane” so to speak.
Justin is the best thing that happened musically for me because the level of inspiration he set forth is remarkable.
